In the New School style, Hanoi’s young artist is a master of shape and color. Through today’s conversation, we will get to know Tung better!

Hello Tung! How long have you been working in this job and how has it been?
About 7 years ago, at that time, I was a game designer, my biggest passion, and I never thought I would become a tattoo artist. My brother and my friend were the ones who came up with this opportunity. Those two people came to me and asked for me to give them a tattoo. It’s possible that they believed that an artist would be able to handle all the drawing-related tasks. Although the tattoo was small and simple, it was the fate that led me to enter the world of tattoos. I had always believed that tattoo art was limited to simple shapes, but when I saw colorful and complicated tattoos, I was truly captivated. Through that, I gained a different perspective and inspired me to seriously pursue this new path.

You used to be a game artist. Does this explain your current tattoo style?
I gained a solid foundation during my time of passion and pursuit of game design. When pursuing tattoo art, it can be said that I only focus on mastering new tools to build my tattoo skills.

Are there any other difficulties you encounter when switching to tattooing, aside from experiencing new creative tools?
I think it’s really not easy to get a tattoo that expresses exactly the images you want in your mind. I can easily recreate any color or effect on the screen when I draw games. It’s a lot of work to recreate that on a tattoo. Producing more requires a lot of time and practice.

Have you reached your artistic destination with your current style clearly defined?
It’s not necessary, but I always try to come up with something fresh in every design. I also plan to make significant changes. In the future, I may add large tattoos to my collection with a bit of a biomechanical style.

Is there a milestone that is significant to you during your journey?
That was the time after the Covid-19 outbreak. As my mental health deteriorated, I found myself lost in my own questions. I have decided to start practicing meditation and pursue a green lifestyle. The Zen lifestyle has helped me understand myself better, solve problems, and positively impact my life.

Your positivity is something I also feel, which is great. What is a specific dream to pursue?
I like nature. I used to imagine it would be great if I had a property in the mountains and forests. Where you can still get tattoos and enjoy life near nature.

Thank you for your very interesting shares. If this article is limited, I may want to ask you more questions, particularly about your experience with a Zen lifestyle.
I hope you always maintain positive energy and flourish in your work.
